Fifty Shades of the Truth

More than four years ago, I finshed a book that had nothing to do with the mystery genre. This was my first venture into another area. The book is about a man who died and kept a secret from his wife his entire life. A secret that came to reveal itself with the knock on her door, the very day he was buried. The book deals with a woman trying to recover her late husband's past and to find out about the truths he left behind.

The book had to do with family.

Since the main characters in this book had the last name of Grey, I called my book

Shades of Grey.

At the time, I didn't think twice about a book entering the world called Fifty Shades of Grey. You see, there is no copyright the title and I kept going. There are many books from different authors with the very same title. The only thing was Fifty Shades became a monster book hit.

At that point, I had really no choice. I decided to change the name of my book and watched as the world enveloped the other book.

You never know about these things. I still plan to offer my book to the reading world sometime in the summer or fall. Only, as you can imagine, with a new title.

The new title is: The Search for Mr. Nowhere.

My best to the author of Fifty Shades of Grey.

For me, a quick laugh at what happened, and it is time to move on.
