New book in October. Opioid addiction as a backdrop.

My new thriller, Down To The Last Mark, comes out October 15th. The victim, is a singer, who has given her entire life over to opioids. The craving has come first, over her music and her fans. However, a crisis sends a contract hitman directly into her path and she has to flee to stay alive - and feed her habit. She hires my protagonist, private investigator Frank Tower, to protect her. And - she must go through withdrawal while on the run. A trail of murder leads directly to her and to Tower. Based in south Florida, this is the second in the Frank Tower thriller series. I have studied and watched the opioid problem grow for several years, as I was in a position to see things happen up close. I hope you will take time to read my book, when it launches in October.
